Analisis Performa dan Emisi Gas Buang Pada Motor Diesel AJE 260002 Dengan Menggunakan Bahan Bakar Oli Bekas

The decreasing availability of fossil energy sources and the increasing environmental pollution caused by used oil waste have become serious issues in the fields of energy and automotive engineering. One proposed solution is to utilize used oil as an alternative fuel, particularly in diesel engines, due to its high calorific value. This research falls within the scope of developing waste-based alternative fuels, focusing on evaluating the performance and exhaust emissions of diesel engines using a blend of biosolar and distilled fuel derived from used oil. The objective of this study is to analyze the effect of varying fuel compositions on the performance of the AJE 260002 diesel engine and its exhaust emission characteristics. An experimental method was applied through laboratory testing. The fuels used consisted of five blend ratios: 100:0, 85:15, 70:30, 55:45, and 40:60 between used oil-based diesel and biosolar. Engine performance (power and torque) was measured using a dynamometer, while exhaust emissions (carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen oxides (NOx), and smoke opacity) were analyzed using a gas analyzer. The test results showed that the 100% used oil-based fuel produced the highest torque of 48 N·m, while the highest power output of 46.1 HP was achieved with a 55:45 blend of used oil fuel and biosolar. However, increasing the proportion of used oil in the blend significantly raised CO emissions and smoke opacity. Conversely, blends with higher biosolar content resulted in lower emissions, although with a slight reduction in torque. The main conclusion of this study is that a blend of used oil-derived fuel and biosolar can maintain acceptable engine performance, with emissions that remain manageable if the mixing ratio is optimized. This research supports the utilization of used oil waste as a potential alternative fuel that can reduce environmental impact, provided it undergoes proper processing and formulation.
