Uji Performa Penggerak Perahu Dengan Tipe Twin Menggunakan Propeller 3 Blade

This study aims to evaluate the performance of a twin-type boat propulsion system driven by a single 22 HP engine using a 3-blade propeller. Experimental testing was carried out in a water tank to analyze the relationship between engine speed variations and the thrust produced. Power from the engine is transmitted to two propeller shafts through a chain–sprocket mechanism, while thrust measurements were taken using a digital scale and converted into Newton units. The results show a significant increase in thrust as engine speed increases. At 2100 rpm, the propeller generated an average thrust of 36.26 N, which increased to 78.48 N at 4600 rpm. These findings indicate a positive linear relationship between propeller rotational speed and thrust output, demonstrating that the twin-type propulsion system using a 3-blade propeller provides optimal performance for small to medium-sized boats. This research contributes valuable empirical insights for selecting propeller configurations and developing more efficient propulsion systems for fishing vessels in Indonesia.
